**https://unchainedsky.com/install** is the download/installation page for **Unchained**, a browser-automation product that lets an AI run browser tasks on your own computer.
**What the page offers**
- **Desktop app (Beta)** — "One window: the chat and its own browser. No agent, no terminal." Listed for Apple silicon, macOS 13+. You open it and choose *Connect*, then approve the request in your browser. The page says the API key stays encrypted on the machine and is never shown to a page.
- **Local agent** — a separate client that "connects the Chrome you already use, for CLI lanes and MCP." The page notes the desktop app and local agent are different clients and you can use either or both. It shows live status indicators (agent offline / bridge offline / client current) and a "Checking local agent status..." probe.
- **Download ZIP** — a fallback for OSes other than macOS/Windows, since the "native one-click installer is currently available for macOS and Windows."
**Access requirements**
- Downloads require sign-in: "Sign in to download — The installer is tied to your account." The installer is issued from your authenticated account session, and only native binaries (.dmg/.pkg or .msi/.exe) are provided — no shell installer fallback.
- You must tick a consent checkbox: "I agree to install the local Unchained agent on this device and allow it to automate my browser sessions."
**Privacy/scope claims made on the page**
- The agent runs locally and connects your Chrome to Unchained; automation can be stopped by quitting the agent.
- Unchained sees "commands, status, and extracted results needed to run tasks," while your Chrome profile stays on your machine.
- The guided trial doesn't require Claude, Codex, or OpenCode CLI; if you want a local CLI chat lane, you install and sign in to that CLI separately.
There's also a link to "What it is, and what it is not →" for further detail. Note that these are the vendor's own claims on its install page — I did not verify them against independent sources.
